Dear Friends and Family,

Exactly one year ago, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer.  The diagnosis came as the most powerful shock I have ever experienced in my life. Fortunately, my disease was discovered at an early stage and a surgical solution was available to me. The anxiety and fear I experienced following diagnosis has left an indelible mark on me. Despite the harrowing experience I endured, there are so many people who face so much more than I had to overcome with a cancer diagnosis and recovery.

One year later, I am back living life to the fullest, and part of that living includes giving back to the community that was able to support my medical needs to such a high degree when I required the attention. I made the decision to become a part of the BC Cancer Foundation's efforts to support leading clinicians, scientists, and researchers who aim to search for new discoveries and improved patient outcomes. It is my hope that with your support, my ride will accelerate the conquest of cancer.
